FPL GW4 Preview – Players to target and avoid this weekend
Player to Target: Romelu Lukaku
Romelu Lukaku has started his second go at Chelsea in fine fashion, having scored 1 goal in 2 games, and accumulating an xG of 1.76 during his first two appearances. All this despite the opponents being Arsenal and Liverpool – two of the traditional top-six clubs.
Lukaku’s opponents, Aston Villa, have had an xGc of 2.31 (expected goals conceded) which has been shadowed due to the heroics of their keeper, Emiliano Martinez, in goal. But for this game, Aston Villa will be without their star keeper due to quarantine rules which could result in a field day for Lukaku and co.
Player to Avoid: Tyrone Mings
With 15 FPL points in his first 3 PL games, Tyrone Mings has had 16441 transfers in, ahead of GW4. However, I would be avoiding any player from the Aston Villa defense for this encounter, as their underlying defensive data xGc of 2.31 is bottom 5 in the league.
Whilst they have overperformed for some time now where data is concerned, they will have Jed Steer starting this game instead of Marinez.
