When selecting a Fantasy Premier League wildcard team, it is important to have a balance of players that will do well in both the short and long term. With this in mind, here are all the players I would include in my best GW4 Wildcard team.

Goalkeeper
Illan Meslier (Leeds United) – £5.0m

Meslier is a save machine. Last season he averaged 4 saves per game; meaning we can expect him to generate at least 1 FPL save point per game, on average.

The Leeds goalkeeper already has 11 saves in his first 3 games – which is the second-highest in the league – so he’s already exceeding last seasons impressive averages.

As a result of his saves, he often racks up a lot of bonus points. Meslier managed 20 bonus points last season, which is very solid for a goalkeeper.

Leeds also have quite favourable long-term fixtures, which is ideal for a set-and-forget wildcard goalkeeper option.
