The Premier League summer transfer window is finally over. The transfer window had everything in it to make a blockbuster movie out of it.

Legendary players made their move from one country to another, whereas a few players who were least expected to sign contract extensions stayed loyal to their boyhood clubs.

Amongst the blockbuster transfers, Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United and Lionel Messi’s move to PSG caused tremors throughout the world. Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford in a sensational move, whereas Messi had to switch his loyalties because of poor financials at Camp Nou.

In the summer transfer window, there were players who were linked with big-money moves to a particular club from Day 1, however, these deals failed to take off owing to multiple and various reasons.

In this opinion piece, I take a look at the top three failed transfers in the Premier League.
