As the FPL GW3 deadline quickly approaches, I will be discussing some of the most important ins and outs in light of the most recent team news – and what this means for some of the most popular FPL assets for GW3.

Konstantinos Tsimikas (Liverpool) – £4.2m

Tsimikas has really provided FPL managers with some great value at the start of this season, registering 2 clean sheets, 1 assist, as well as 2 bonus points in Liverpool’s first 2 games.

However, the 350,000 FPL managers and counting that have transferred in the Greek international this week may be in for a shock, as it looks likely that Tsimikas will drop to the bench in light of the return of Andrew Robertson.

Robertson was fit enough to be on the bench last week against Burnley and was visibly seen warming up during periods of the game. With the extra week he has had to recover, there should be no concerns over Robertson’s fitness ahead of Liverpool’s big game against Chelsea.

Robertson has stated that he’ll be “ready to play” this week against Chelsea, with Klopp confirming he is in contention for GW3. However, in his recent press conference, he did not provide anything concrete on which left-back will be chosen to start in GW3.

In such a high-profile game against a red-hot Chelsea team, Klopp will want to ensure he puts the best team out that he can. With Tsimikas having the tendency to ‘switch off’ at random times throughout games, Klopp may opt to have the well-experienced Robertson back in the starting XI.

Even if Tsimikas manages to surprise everyone by starting again this week, the long-term prospect of his minutes appears slim due to the class that Robertson presents in the Liverpool team.

Due to Tsimikas’ light price tag of just £4.2m, he may not be worth transferring out if there are more pressing issues in your FPL team, but rather, he can just be demoted to your bench.
