Harry Kane’s choice to stay at Spurs could be heavily rewarding for the striker

Harry Kane could be gifted a new lucrative Spurs deal despite signing a new one last summer. The striker, if both parties agree, could receive up to £400k-per-week, which will earn him the title as the Premier League’s best earner.

The English captain and Tottenham striker was left red-faced after his attempt to engineer a move away from North London blew up in his face, not understanding the mountain of the man Daniel Levy is when negotiating deals.

This led to Kane dejectedly (no one can be cheerful if their desire to leave a club has just failed) publicising his next career move, stating he will remain at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium beyond the summer and try to help the club achieve success.

It was a rollercoaster of events that led to this point in the saga; a no-show Harry Kane when having to report for training, in-depth discussions with the board and the manager, a motivational round of applause and appreciation shown by the travelling Spurs on Sunday when they beat Wolves 0-1 on the road.

In the end, it was the latter that got to him and helped him in making his decision to stay at the club he’s been at forever.

But now, a contract is in discussion and a day after Harry Kane accepted his fate that his proposed move to Manchester City is dead and will probably never happen, the forward now seeks compensation in monetary value for his decision made – he will probably retire at the club.

Last summer, when threatening to leave back then and foolishly believing Levy and his gentleman’s agreement, Kane welcomed a new salary adjustment of £300k-per-week. Now he could get a £100k increase and rake in £400k-per-week.

"According to The Times, Kane is asking for a pay rise up to £400k a week to compensate for his missed opportunity of joining Man City, where he would have certainly been handed a more lucrative contract than his current deal in north London. (Via: 90min.com)"

If this profitable salary raise takes place, Kane overjumps several Premier League greats and will become the best-paid Premier League footballer – Kevin De Bruyne is currently the best earner in the top flight taking home £385k-a-week, reportedly £20m a season.
