After an extraordinary GW2 that saw the popular options in Salah and Bruno Fernandes return blanks, our attention turns to GW3 which poses a tricky situation with a lack of clear standout options, making it a good week to try something different.

Here are my Top 5 captaincy picks for GW3

#5 Raphinha vs Burnley (A)

Raphinha followed his GW1 blank with a sparkling display capped off by a wonderfully taken goal in GW2 vs. Everton. The main reason I see him as an outside captaincy shout this week is because of the matchup that really suits him this week.

The Burnley left side looks one to target as mentioned by @BigManBakar here and Raphinha could really profit from that as we saw Trent Alexander-Arnold do really well vs Burnley and Mo Salah was unlucky not to return himself after having a goal ruled out for offside.

Raphinha has posted some good numbers so far and given Burnley’s newfound tendency to play a more open game, this game could see some goals and with the matchup favouring Raphinha, he could do some serious damage.
