Kylian Mbappe could be making the final switch of his footballing career this summer or the next one; Real Madrid have made their move for the Frenchman with a €160m bid ready to be tabled, according to reports.

Normality has really returned this summer window following two transfer periods where clubs were stingy with a tight grip on their pockets, trying to save every last penny.

Now cash is being splashed all over and we have already witnessed our record-breaking transfer for the summer with Grealish moving to Man City for £100m from Aston Villa. Included in the delayed deals owing to pandemic-struck markets was the exit of Kylian Mbappe from PSG.

Kylian Mbappe has been in a contract deadlock for quite some time

The player has stalled on a contract extension ever since being offered a new one a couple of years back, and the club has made multiple attempts in their efforts to try and tie him down to a new long-term deal but to no avail.

The player’s standoff has been no secret and PSG need to think about whether or not to cash in on him now, or lose him for free next summer – Mbappe is running into the final year of his current deal with the Parisians – they’ve made three new-deal attempts to date.

Liverpool have been lurking and circling around Le Parc des Princes, waiting for their moment to strike – that moment apparently came on Tuesday – the Reds were rumoured to be the one and only English club inquiring about the winger.

This sent Liverpool FT (Football Twitter) into an elated frenzy, despite knowing the news about Real Madrid’s offer of €160m. This is the optimism shown in a time the Reds have completed the least number of transfers for new incomings.

Liverpool fans’ hopes and dreams crushed in one update!

The Liverpool faithful are well aware there is no way on God’s green earth the club’s owners, FSG (Fenway Sports Group), would spend the proposed offer Los Blancos is said to have put forward for Mbappe.

HOWEVER! If the player has still not transferred there is still that little bit of hope a Red can hold onto and dream about until movement happens or the transfer window closes – whichever comes first.

Unwantedly and dejectedly for those who never walk alone, according to the transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Kylian Mbappe wants to fulfil his own dreams by making the big switch from the Le Parc des Princes to the Bernabéu.

Happy not to sign a new contract with Paris but also happy to leave now or next summer for free, but only to Real Madrid.

"Kylian Mbappé wants to join Real Madrid. This summer or next summer as free agent, he wants to make his childhood dream come true. That’s why he’s turning down PSG new contract bids. #Mbappé NO English clubs in the race. Real offered €160m. NO green light from PSG as of now."

If you were under the impression John W. Henry was about to mend some wounds and was going to use this summer window as the restoration session, you were sadly fooled. It remains interesting to see what the Anfield owners will do to patch things up with their fans – or if they ever will after the ESL catastrophe.
