We’ve had an amazing weekend of football in the EPL with some surprises and some blowouts. The weekend will end with two exciting games and of them, is probably the best match of the weekend, Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City.
The Citizens will try to defend their title from last season and they will want to start on the front foot, but they face a very solid Tottenham squad who finished 7th last season but also needs to display better football if they want to keep Harry Kane in North London.
Also, the Citizens are the team who have shown the most interest in Harry Kane and many expect him to be their player in the next couple of weeks, this match could be crucial in Harry Kane’s decision on his future.
Spurs vs Manchester City injury news
All English Premier League
Pep Guardiola is not going to be able to count on Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne. KDB picked up an ankle injury in the Euro 2020 which makes him unavailable for the game.
Phil Foden suffered a foot injury in England’s training is expected to miss three to four weeks and is not going to be able to play in the opening match. Also, Kyle Walker, Raheem Sterling, John Stones, Gabriel Jesus, Ederson, and Aymeric Laporte just got back to training earlier this week and most likely will not start the game but should be on the bench.
For the Spurs, it is still doubtful that new signings Cristian Romero and Bryan Gil would be able to feature in the first matchup of the season. Gil joined Tottenham’s training Wednesday because he was at the Olympics with Spain and it’s probably too soon to start playing with the team.
Cristian Romero picked up an injury at the Copa America; he has already trained with the team and most likely would start for Spurs but it is still uncertain if he makes the cut.
Also, Harry Kane is a doubt for the game, he joined Tottenham’s training 10 days later than he was supposed to and it is not certain if he is going to start the game against his potential new club.

Match Prediction
We are lucky to have such an exciting game in the first weekend of Premier League action. These are two of the biggest teams in English football and both would look to start on the right foot.
Manchester City has some issues with players, some injuries, and some players who just got back from International duty, which could make for a difficult game for them but they still have a lot of quality in their squad to be able to go back home with the three points.
