Joe Willock says his goodbye to Arsenal and joins Newcastle
Newcastle United seals the deal for their biggest priority signing of the summer, Joe Willock. The former Arsenal man joins permanently following a successful six-month loan spell with the Magpies in the second half of last season.
The deal struck of £25m for the midfielder suits all parties involved. Arsenal needed some extra cash to help fund the rest of their summer business while Newcastle needed a player Steve Bruce enjoys working with and Willock was in search of a home where he could get to strut his stuff regularly at the highest level in England.
The transfer sees the 21-year-old ply his trade at St. James’ Park for the next six-year. The only setback about his move, it was not completed in time for him to make their opening Premier League fixture against West Ham on Sunday at St. James Park – what a welcome he would have received from the fans if he’d register in time for his new club.

Willock must of and had to take his short, successful spell into account when making his final decision on his future – and then finally deciding to leave. Eight goals in 14 Premier League is a great stat to build on.
The Magpies are said to be in the market for another one or two players to help strengthen the squad. Arsenal, on the other hand, can now fund a Martin Odegaard or James Maddison transfer.
