Albert Lokonga – Center midfielder

Another summer signing of Arteta’s who should be given a chance. The Belgian has played for Anderlecht’s first team since he was 17 years old. At 21 years of age, he became the club’s youngest captain in their history.

Since Thomas Partey is injured for the game, Lokonga is the best option in this position for the first opener. Also, it could boost his confidence for the remainder of the season.

Granit Xhaka – Center midfielder

Xhaka has had some difficult moments at Emirates Stadium but lately, he’s been brilliant. He had an amazing Euro 2020 with Switzerland where they reached the quarter-finals, being one of their standout out players, if not, their biggest star.

Even though he has been a starter for Arsenal, he would need to display the same level of football if he wants to keep his position when Thomas comes back from his injury. Lokonga is a youngster and if he has a good level, Xhaka could be sent to the bench.

Emile Smith Rowe – Attacking Midfielder

If Maddison doesn’t end up at Emirates Stadium, ESR will be the No. 10 at Arsenal. I think that the youngster is the best option Arteta has for the playmaking position and he would certainly have a big responsibility this season.

He established himself as a key figure when he broke out onto the scene last term, despite his young age. His role will only increase as the season chips on.
