Reports suggest that a new deal for Raheem Sterling is far from a priority for Manchester City at the moment, as we witness them in the making of breaking the Premier League transfer record for Jack Grealish.
As per insiders of the club, discussions between the England international Raheem Sterling and Man City have broken down, with the pair failing to meet on terms – be it the length of the new proposal or increase in wages – either could be a stumbling block but nothing concrete said as into why.
The story goes on and states that the club would have loved to of had a new deal sorted before the new Premier League campaign kicks off but sometimes things in life just don’t go according to plan.
However, despite reaching an impasse in talks, the club is not sweating a free departure or considering an imminent sale but will now act patiently, purely based on the fact he has two years left on his current deal.

Sterling was thought to be on the fringe at the Etihad
All English Premier League
Before the season ended and during the course of the Euro 2020 championship, it was believed that Raheem Sterling would be one of the few players to make an exit from the Manchester club.
This was due to him being overlooked in the latter part of their Premier League winning campaign by manager Pep Guardiola.
Despite the stress being made over his absence from the starting XI or the matchday squad altogether on some occasions, he was still ever-present in their most important fixtures, including the Champions League final loss against English foes, Chelsea.
Sterling, only 26 years of age, has the world to offer City. He proved his metal at Euro 2020 coming out of the group stages as the Three Lions’ top scorer with two scored – these goals, England’s only goals scored to help them qualify.
In his six seasons with the multiple EPL champions, he’s made 195 appearances, 170 of them starts, scored 78 goals and collected 38 assists. He currently earns £300,000-per-week and if the Manchester club is to acquire the services of Jack Grealish, offering Sterling more wages right now doesn’t make any sense.
In two years, if he hits higher heights or drops to newer lows, they can have a better hand to draw on whether or not to pull the plug on his stay at the Etihad or make him one of the best earners in Europe.
