Demarai Gray’s short spell in Germany is one to forget
Demarai Gray needs to put his dismal showing in the Bundesliga behind him as fast as possible. He started like a house on fire but then declined into one of the worst signings of last year summer.
What he needs to do is build on his best top-flight showing which was in Leicester City colours back in 2018-19; he scored four goals and assisted another one.
He doesn’t come in as an immediate starting player but as a backup to those in his position. Everton are looking to solve the long-lasting problem of having no depth and no quality in depth.
He walks through the door at Finch Farm as the Toffees third, new summer arrival after Andros Townsend joined from Crystal Palace for free and Asmir Begovic from AFC Bournemouth.
