Demarai Gray is close to making a return to the Premier League but this time will link up with Everton. His move to Goodison Park is subject a medical, which is supposed to be in the final stages as of Tuesday.

Everton will soon complete a deal for Bayer Leverkusen’s Demarai Gray for an extremely low fee said to be around £1.5m. Gray, once he has completed his move back to his homeland England, will return from Germany after being there for as little as half a year.

Sadly, he failed to impress in his time there and the Germans felt it best to accept offers for the 25-year-old. He made 10 appearances for Leverkusen, starting as few as five of the 10 features.

He went on to have little to almost no impact on games, confirming his time at the King Power was his most successful in the top flight.

He scored one goal and assisted another two – and these all came in his first month at the club – and he never again was able to find his goalscoring form.

Risk-free business for Everton

Gray coming in at £1.5m equals low risk for the Toffees. If he hits the ground running, it could be one of the bargain buys of the decade – it’s a win-win situation for them. However, at 25 years old, the Englishman needs to start bringing his A-game.

With him, Everton will name a few others; Asmir Begović and Andros Townsend are said to have completed their respective deals with the club while some reports believe Denzel Dumfries from PSV Eindhoven could also be joining the Blues, but they are struggling to convince him Goodison Park is the place to be.
