Prior to the news of Lamela moving in the opposite direction to Spain, he expressed his desire to leave Tottenham during the opening days of the summer transfer window – it has been that way for some time now.
Having a lesser role in North London helped prompt the move away from the capital. He has always had the task of having to impact a fixture rather than being a secured and regular starter for Spurs.
Last season he made 25 appearances but started only 5 of those games. The season before that it was the same Modus operandi, he had 25 features but started only 12 of them. The season prior, 19 games but he only managed 9 starts.
A lot of his absence has been because of his injury setbacks. His rhythm was always interrupted time and time again. A fresh start and exciting new challenge are required for Erik Lamela.
Bryan Gil an exciting new addition to Tottenham
Bryan Gil, from Sevilla but has been on loan for the past couple of seasons; last season he enjoyed his days on the pitch while on loan to Eibar and prior to that with Leganés.
Strangely despite his tender age of 20 years old, Gil has a lot of minutes under his belt in La Liga. Between the three clubs, ranging back to the 2018/19 season, Gil has made 54 appearances and has six goals and assisted a further four.
All-in-all, he has 3,068 minutes of Spanish top-flight football on his resume. He is one of Spain’s most promising young talents and offers renewed hope of an exciting run for Spurs this Premier League campaign.
He provides a bright look into Tottenham’s future if he is not a signing for now. However, we’ve seen the magic Nuno does with top young players still developing their trade.
At Wolves, we’ve got to enjoy a range of brilliant names breakout in the Premier League. The Spaniard could become an instant hit under Santo in their time together at Tottenham.
