Wolves shopping spree supports the new manager Bruno Lage
Bruno Lage has some big shoes to fill with his predecessor being Nuno Espírito Santo. But the club have been doing all in their power to assure from the offset, they will have the players added to the roster that Lage feels will interpret exactly what he wants onto the pitch.
Also, despite being on a major revamp, they haven’t been spending wildly and have conducted some good transactions. For instance, the signing of their new number 1 stopper cost the club £4m less than what they sold Patricio to Rome for.
Added to this, Wolves technical director Scott Sellars says that Jose Sa is the type of goalkeeper Bruno Lage needs for his style of play. His qualities are exactly what they require – especially his experience in European competitions.
Scott Sellars on Wolves new signing Jose Sa:
"Jose is somebody who is very much coming into his peak years as a goalkeeper and has always been high up on our target list. He’s aggressive when coming for crosses, he commands his penalty area, has excellent distribution and he’s a very pro-active goalkeeper, and will be an important part in how we want to play under Bruno. He made 17 Champions League appearances and 14 Europa League appearances while in Portugal and Greece. He has three league titles under his belt; two Super League Greece titles and one Primeira Liga title in his time with FC Porto.
