With such an inflated transfer market as the one we have in place today, finding a bargain is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Nonetheless, that by no definition means there are no steals to be found. Recent times have shown players refusing to sign long-term contracts in hopes they will sign with a better suitor down the near road.

Barcelona have taken the full value of this transfer window signing the trio of Eric Garcia and Memphis Depay and Sergio Aguero for free.

Two of the players were disgruntled with their situations, and in response, let their contracts run down. The other became of age and needed to make a break for it and enjoy his last years in his footballing career.

With the COVID Pandemic hampering football clubs’ finances worldwide, clubs won’t be entirely eager to break the bank. Finding a free agent that suits the club’s needs could prove to be an act of masterstroke.
