Having recently been acquired by American business firm, ALK Capital, optimism is high at Turf Moor and across Burnley.

There is no denying Sean Dyche has done a great job keeping Burnley afloat in the Premier League through a modest budget. However, their most recent 17th place finish indicates the current squad needs investing.

Bardsley, Pieters, Lowton, Cork, and Gudmundsson are all players approaching the tail end of their careers, rejuvenating the squad would prove to be astute in a Premier League which will prove to be one of the most competitive in recent years.

Although there are new financial backers at Turf Moor, it is important that their transfer dealings match the ideology which has kept them in the Premier League in recent years.
