The youngster dubbed to be “similar to Messi” has joined Wolves on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona. He is the second player to arrive in West Midlands this summer window following the announcement of Yerson Mosquera two weeks ago.
The exciting youngster, Francisco Trincao, also only 21 years old, joins Wolves on a season loan with the Premier League club having an option to buy if the deal is a successful one and if a settlement meets all involved’s expectations.
"Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed their second signing of the summer – and the second of Bruno Lage’s reign – after announcing the arrival of Francisco Trincao. The winger, 21, has signed on a season long loan deal from Barcelona, with the option for Wolves to make the deal permanent next summer if all parties are happy with the arrangement. Wolves are off to a flying start in the transfer market.
All English Premier League
Like most transfer windows, Wolverhampton Wanderers have started their work early. This, not only to build on last season’s hiccup but it too signals the start of the new era at Molineux under the new boss, Bruno Lage.
As per multiple reports, the Wanderers are ready to do a lot of business in the transfer market but with many players heading in either direction, in and out. So far, players on their way in are tipping the scale having seen no players depart as of yet.
One thing that must be pointed out, something that is similar between this deal and others of the past; it is another young, promising Portuguese talent the West Midlands side have added to their ranks – keeping true to their mold of introducing some of the best Portuguese nationals to the EPL.
Wolves endured their toughest outing in the Premier League their last run-out, finishing outside of the top 10 for the first time since rejoining the top flight back in 2018.
Whether they will be better is something that can only be judged once the season kicks off – this because of them potentially losing many of their first-team starters and experienced players, as well as vying under a new manager.
Francisco Trincão comes with some experience
The 21-year-old has loads of exposer despite being so young. From his time at S.C. Braga to Barcelona, Trincão has featured in both the Champions League, Europa League, Primeira Liga and La Liga.
Last season, under Ronald Koeman he was a well-used outfielder, mostly enjoying minutes coming off from the bench as an impact player. Across all competitions, he started 10 games for Barca, scoring two goals. His total return was three goals scored and two assists.
He is certainly a top talent and one we should all be very excited to see when the new season commences – will he become one of the breakout players in the league or fail to impress?
