Nobody got it right when they predicted the winners of Group E. In Euro 2020, Sweden have emerged as surprise winners of Group E with a victory over Poland on Wednesday.

Under Luis Enrique, Spain came to the European Championship with a lot of gung-ho, however, the team was on the verge of being ousted as they had only two points from two games. In the last game against Slovakia, they thrashed their opposition to take all three points at Seville.

Slovakia and Poland displayed a lot of grit and determination in their group games. Sadly, they failed to withstand the test of times in the last Group E games and eventually their campaign was over. Only Sweden and Spain have qualified for the Round of 16 at Euro 2020 finals.

Combined XI (4-3-3) from Group E

Goalkeeper: Robin Olsen (Sweden)

Defenders: Milan Skriniar (Slovakia), Victor Lindelof (Sweden), Jordi Alba (Spain), Aymeric Laporte (Spain)

Midfielders: Pedri (Spain), Marek Hamsik (Slovakia), Sergio Busquets (Spain)

Sweden were topside in Group E after they conceded just two goals in the group stage. Often blamed for defensive failure at Old Trafford, Victor Lindelof was a top player in the heart of the defense for Sweden.

Aymeric Laporte and Jordi Alba were crucial for Spain throughout their group stage fixtures. Though Slovakia were knocked out of the tournament, Milan Skriniar and Marek Hamsik deserve praise for their relentless performances against quality opponents.

Sweden scored just four goals in the group stage. Amongst the four goals, Emil Forsberg scored three for Janne Anderson’s men. Robert Lewandowski was at his usual best for Poland.

He scored 75% of Poland’s goals before they were knocked out. (Three out of four goals). Alexander Isak caught the attention of football fans with his pace and quality on the ball for Sweden.
