Neco Williams will look for a move out of Anfield during the summer transfer window and after Wales’ involvement in the Euro 2020 tournament – Liverpool are ready to listen to offers no less than £20m.

The Reds have and will always have trouble keeping onto their most prized, young assets, who are supposed to come through the ranks sooner or later – one of these players being Neco Williams.

"Williams is currently with the Wales squad at the Euros, and celebrated progress to the last 16 on Sunday despite a 1-0 loss to Italy, which means he will be at the tournament until at least June 26.After that, it is claimed that he will push for a move away from Anfield, with Liverpool accepting that he “wants to be playing week in, week out at the highest level.”"

Due to him playing behind one of the club’s most lethal weapons and assets, Trent Alexander-Arnold, first-team minutes have been limited. Making matter worse, Trent being 22 years young encourages a move abroad for Williams.

But a Neco Williams transfer is far from simple with reports conflicting matters. Paul Gorst and Theo Squires sit on opposite ends of the news; the former claiming Williams is going nowhere whereas the latter says the club will listen to offers.

"Twist in Neco Williams transfer tale as Liverpool expect move for major profit.Having been expected to stay at Liverpool despite interest from the Premier League and Championship, the club are now claimed to have set a price tag for their No. 76.On Saturday, the Liverpool Echo‘s Paul Gorst claimed “the plan for Williams is for him to stay put,” with more opportunities likely next season. But two days later, his colleague Theo Squires has now reported that the right-back is “expected to leave,” with the club setting a price tag in anticipation. This information is corroborated by former club journalist David Lynch."

Liverpool’s defensive crisis must have been an eye-opener

Surely what happened following the loss of Virgil van Dijk and struggling with injury after injury to key players thereafter, they would think twice about losing their second-choice fullback.

Claiming that they have the cover of Joe Gomez in the position but honestly, the real question is who will cover Joe Gomez? He missed 31 Premier League games last season, 10 the season before, and 22 the season prior to that.

Other Liverpool correspondent James Pearce reported that Conor Bradley and Gomez are the backup solutions. Having only signed a Lovren replacement this summer in Ibrahima Konate, they are still quite short-staffed in the defensive department.

"Squires names Southampton, Leeds, Aston Villa and Burnley as suitors, with “interest likely to escalate later this summer,” as the likes of Norwich, Cardiff and Swansea have also been linked.(Via: thisisanfield.com)"

For now, the Welshman is enjoying his country’s qualification into the Round of 16 in the Euro 2020 tournament. They meet Denmark on Saturday, 26 June. The Danes made a late push for second place and got it with a spectacular 4-1 win over Russia.
