At the fag end of the 2020/21 Premier League season, Harry Kane voiced his feelings on leaving Tottenham in search of trophies, something the North London club have been unable to attain since 2008.
In an interview with Gary Neville, the English skipper spoke of this extensively and mentioned his inclination towards playing with a playmaker like Kevin De Bruyne. Kane praised the Belgium midfielder and said he is a dream player to play alongside.
"Oh De Bruyne for sure. When I watch De Bruyne play he’s a special, special player and some of the balls I see him put in for City are just a strikers dream if I’m honest but yeah he’s outstanding, you’ve seen him, he’s an outstanding player with the ball, off the ball, pressing, but his delivery is as good as I’ve ever seen to be honest(Via: GMS)"
Under Jose Mourinho and Ryan Mason, Harry Kane featured in 35 games for Tottenham. He not only had a field day in terms of the number of goals scored, but he also upped his ante as a playmaker as well.
Last season in the Premier League, Kane had 37 G/A to his name compared to 20 G/A in the 2019/20 season. (Harry Kane played only 29 games in 2019/20)
His scintillating consistency in the English top-flight has always linked him with a move away from North London. However, his loyalty towards Spurs along with the price tag has always prevented him from an exit.
Currently, Spurs are in a dire state as they are yet to finalize their manager for the up-and-coming season. The lack of intent from the club has made the transfer almost imminent.
On the other hand, Manchester City played most of the 2020/21 season without a proper CF, with Raheem Sterling, Ferran Torres, and Gabriel Jesus all playing the striker role.
The champions will also be without the services of Sergio Aguero who left the club on a free transfer at the end of his contract.
With very few prominent strikers available in the summer transfer window, Manchester City have set their sights on Kane.
Manchester City’s not the only club looking to sign Kane; Manchester United and Chelsea are also monitoring his situation – a situation that will only be decided after Euro 2020, as per the Englishman himself.
The Eithad outfit has made the first move. Though Daniel Levy is not in a mood to give up on his prominent striker, a great deal can tempt him to sell Kane.
Will Daniel Levy let go of his favorite striker, Harry Kane? If he does, what price would be reasonable? Have your say below!
