England got off to a winning start in their UEFA Euro 2020 campaign, with Raheem Sterling’s only goal guiding them to a 1-0 win over Croatia.

Up next for the Three Lions is a stern test against Scotland at the Wembley Stadium. England and Scotland enjoy one of the oldest rivalries in international football.

The two teams first locked swords in November of 1872 and since then, there have been as many as 114 matches between them.

England holds the upper hand in terms of head-to-head record with 48 wins while Scotland have 41 wins at their disposal.

Friday’s meeting between the two nations is going to be their first match in an international tournament in 25 years.

Their last meeting, in major cup finals, dates back to Euro 1996 where goals from Alan Shearer and Paul Gascoigne gave England a 2-0 win.
