The deal for Manchester United to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund is closer than ever – so much so, they have already started mobilising his potential replacement.

As per reports, Manchester United and Jadon Sancho have already agreed to personal terms. These terms see him jump to the top of United’s highest-paid players – a five-year deal making £350k per week.

"The tabloid newspaper writes that Sancho has agreed terms on a potential five-year contract that would earn him £350,000 per week.Currently only David de Gea earns more at the club, although a new contract for Paul Pogba this summer could also see him move into similar territory. Following the news of the swift agreement between the English side and the BVB player, Dortmund rejected United’s first bid for him.

Man United came in with a £67m attempt but the German outfit have been firm, once again, on their valuation of one of their star players.

Currently, the pair have continued negotiations over the weekend past and could have found their settlement fee – a fee said to be around £81.6m (€95m). This plus the bonuses are being ironed out, as per reports.

Making us believe the deal is going to go through sooner rather than later, Borussia Dortmund have already started naming their possible Sancho relieves.

Borussia Dortmund’s possible Jadon Sancho replacement

The Bundesliga side have named PSV’s Donyell Malen as their main summer target and see him as the perfect fit, when/if Jadon Sancho leaves.

The price they will pay also fits well into their transfer structure and they could be charged somewhere around £25.7m (€30m) for the young Dutchman.

"BILD report that PSV Eindhoven attacker Donyell Malen is Borussia Dortmund’s primary candidate to replace Jadon Sancho should he leave for Manchester United this summer. There’s currently a €20 million difference in Manchester United’s first offer for Sancho and Borussia Dortmund’s valuation of the England international but it’s expected that an agreement will be reached this summer.Malen is likely to cost around €30m, per BILD, and has a contract until 2024. Malen is fast becoming a hot prospect for a lot of top European sides. His Eredivisie showing last season was one to remember for the player; scoring 19 goals and assisting a further eight in 32 league appearances.

The 21-year-old’s past three campaigns have seen him collect double figures – a goal contribution of 13 for the term in 2019-2020 was his lowest in the Dutch top league over the last three seasons.

Donyell Malen made his Euros debut in the Netherlands 3-2 win over Ukraine – he came on for the last 10 minutes of the game.

For now, deals will move slowly. With Euros and the Copa America in full swing, deals for tournament participants will undoubtedly wait until their respective tournaments have concluded.
