Most expensive XI Copa America 2020
Alisson – Brazil – €60M
Even though Alisson didn’t have his best season at Liverpool, he’s still valued as one of the most expensive keepers in the world and the most expensive keeper on the South American continent.
He assured his starting spot over Ederson who’s valuation is €10M less than Alisson. However, it appeared that Tite was going to use Ederson over the Reds goalkeeper since Ederson was the keeper for both World Cup qualifying games before Copa America initiated.
Emerson – Brazil – €25M
Emerson, who was recently signed for Barcelona is taking part in his first major tournament with Brazil. He would need to fight for his spot with Danilo who has been Tite’s favorite for the position.
Emerson had a great season with Real Betis which earned him a comeback move to Barcelona.
Marquinhos – Brazil – €75M
One of the most expensive players on this list and arguably the best center-back alongside Ruben Dias this season. Marquinhos has led PSG to consecutive Champions League semifinals and he would try to help Brazil to a trophy this summer.
He would be Brazil’s leading figure in defense since it seems like Tite is not going to use Thiago Silva much. He used Marquinhos and Eder Militao in both World Cup qualifying games and their opening game of this tournament.
The PSG center-back started this tournament in the best way possible scoring the first goal of the tournament against Venezuela.
José María Giménez – Uruguay – €60M
One of the best center-back on the continent who has been great for Uruguay and Atletico de Madrid in these past few seasons. He’s part of one of the best center-backs duos alongside the experienced Diego Godin.
Uruguay is known for its good defensive performances in every game. Jose Maria is a very passionate player who always gives everything on the field and is step by step solidifying himself as one of the best center-backs in the world.
Renan Lodi – Brazil – €25M
This list is full of Brazilian players, right? Renan Lodi is one of four Brazilian players mentioned here. The player was part of Atletico Madrid’s winning campaign and because of this has gotten the nod ahead of expected starter, Alex Sandro.
