Miguel Almirón – Newcastle United

Easily, Almirón is Paraguay’s best player for this year’s Copa America. He is very agile, and is a player who can run the whole 90 minutes without stopping. He had a decent season with Newcastle, where he helped them in avoiding relegation.

He had an amazing Copa America in 2019, in which he was one of the best players in the tournament. He’d be hoping to repeat it so that he can help his country in replicating their performances from 2011 when Paraguay got into the final.

While that might not be entirely possible, with how strong the other teams are, if Paraguay are to get anywhere close to that, Miguel Almiron will be hugely important in that bid. He’s strong on the ball, and doesn’t ever back down from challenges.

Paraguay will definitely be resting most of their hopes on Almiron, because he really makes this team tick. He’s involved in all areas of the pitch, and will truly look to give his all.
