Chris Wood – Burnley

It was a very disappointing season for Burnley. We were getting used to seeing Burnley in the middle of the table after having an outstanding in the 2017-2018 run, where they ended up in 7th place.

This season, they were one place away from relegation. Despite their overall bad Premier League run, Chris Wood had an amazing season with 12 goals and 3 assists.

He had 9 more goals than any Burnley player this season past. Burnley had a very bad season individually and Wood didn’t have much support on the offensive part of the field, he scored almost 40% of The Clarets goals.

Also, it was Wood’s second-best scoring season in the Premier League. It is clear that Wood’s performance this year is one of the factors which helped the Clarets avoid relegation.
