And that’s a wrap folks! The Premier League has concluded following the end of Matchday 38. Liverpool and Chelsea join the two Manchester clubs in the Champions League next season.

Aside from the Player of the Year Award, there is no better honor for a player than making the EPL Top IX for a season.

To avoid turning this honor into a popularity contest and selecting players based on their Instagram followers, we at The Top Flight have carefully selected our Top IX for the season by analyzing each player’s match rating from FOTMOB.com throughout the season.

The match ratings are determined via an algorithm that uses a multitude of Opta Statistics. This means that the measurements eliminate any bias that a spectator could have from watching the game.

For a player to be eligible for the team, they must have played more than 25 Premier League games this season where they recorded an average of at least 65 minutes a game.

The formation of the team will be a 4-3-3 where three center midfielders can be selected, and three forwards or wingers can be selected if they fit the criteria.
