It appeared as if Harry Kane said his final goodbyes to Tottenham fans following their 1-2 loss to Aston Villa at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The striker walked a lap around the pitch applauding the returning Spurs supporters, who did not enjoy their time back in the stadium.

It was one to forget for all in North London and what went on during the 90 minutes of football, probably epitomised their entire Premier League campaign perfectly.

The game started with Tottenham on the front foot when they took the lead through Steven Bergwijn.

Not long after another Spurs player found the back of the net – sadly, this was in his own net. Fullback Sergio Reguilón with a marvellous volley beat his own goalie, Hugo Lloris, to even out the scoreline.

Just before it read 40 minutes on the clock, Villa applied what would be regarded as the final blow, the go-ahead goal where Ollie Watkins took advantage of a Reguilón error – the left-back really had a torrid time.

The game saw a quiet second half play out with no goals scored by either side. Kane, himself had nothing in the locker to try and save a point or more.
