An FPL captain’s dream come true: A triple Gameweek for Manchester United
If you were wondering what would be classified as a Hail Mary play in Premier League Fantasy Football, you are about to find out. Manchester United fans blessed FPL captains with a triple gameweek!
Last weekend Sunday almost the entire globe was left frustrated with the news that Manchester United‘s Premier League clash against old foes Liverpool had to be postponed.
The home side’s fans stormed Old Trafford, causing a string of bad events which eventually left match officials and the decision-makers no choice but to call the game and reschedule some time in the near future.
That near future rescheduling has been determined and that will be May 13, next week Thursday. Liverpool will have to make the trip to Old Trafford again for the North West Derby.

What does this mean for FPL captains?
Well, this means you need to get on the Man United train. They are in exceptional form and have only failed to score in 90 minutes of football over the last 13 games across all competitions.
You would be shooting yourself in the foot to not have a top FPL choice from United in your team selection this gameweek. There are loads of options in the Man United lineup from front to back – and players who have been showing up with some decent returns.
Here are a few to look at for FPL captain picks or players to bring in and help garner maximum points
- Bruno Fernandes – The first and obvious choice would be Bruno Fernandes. His influence should never be doubted and just being the man who does all the business in the dead-ball situations, 12 yards out or further, makes him the prime pick.
- Edinson Cavani – The striker has scored five goals in five games. That in itself should be enough to convince you. He is the man to have in your team if you looking to pass on a Bruno captaincy.
- Marcus Rashford/Mason Greenwood – Definitely not options for captain picks but certainly two to look at adding to your Fantasy roster. The former has struggled over the last few games but he always wants the ball at his feet to try something. The latter, however, has come to life of late. He is a great option for a goal and looks like he will have a strong ending to the campaign.
Other options should be based on whether or not they will be heavily rotated. This is why, Rashford, Greenwood, and Cavani are risky options, taking into account they all operate in similar positions.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær will look to rotate and replenish where he can – especially due to the fact they play three games in the space of six days, two days apart from each other.
Their first encounter is Aston Villa on Sunday, May 09. The next will be Tuesday, May 11, and against Leicester City for a top-of-the-table clash.
The final in the treble of fixtures for the Reds Devils will be Thursday, May 13, and against their biggest and oldest rivals, Liverpool.
Below is an idea of none-rotational outfielders who are almost certain to play every game:
"That busy schedule means managers should target players who are less likely to be rotated.Harry Maguire (£5.5m) and Bruno Fernandes (£11.5m) seem the most secure picks for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side. They have started 33 and 32 matches respectively this season.Fernandes now looks likely to be the overwhelming favourite for the Gameweek 35 captaincy.Marcus Rashford (£9.6m) and Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£5.7m) have also been key first-team players, starting 31 matches apiece. However, Mason Greenwood (£7.1m) could prove a cheaper option than Rashford in midfield. He has started four of the last five Gameweeks, scoring four goals and supplying an assist. (Via: premierleague.com)"
The Premier League is back later this evening, Friday kickoff, for Matchday 35 and the opener promises to be a good one with Leicester City entertaining Newcastle at the King Power Stadium.
