Erling Haaland has been one of the most sought after youngsters in the world ever since he broke into the scene with RB Salzburg, scoring goals after goals after goals in his first season. He caught the limelight when he started shining for the club in the biggest club competition in the world – the UEFA Champions League.
Then, a season later he joined Borussia Dortmund and it has almost always been smooth sailing for him individually. He has been scoring a lot of goals, and getting the recognition he deserves. He went from one of the brightest young talents to one of the best strikers in the world in just two seasons.
This made the top clubs in the world interested in signing him. All the teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Liverpool – especially the Reds. a team that might lose one of their own superstars according to a report – have been linked with him at some point or the other. They’ve all been tracking his movements, while he has been breaking one record after the other.
What has been said about the future of Erling Haaland? Is he staying at Dortmund?

But there’s some bad news for these clubs and many more interested in the Norwegian superstar’s services. According to Dortmund’s director Michael Zorc, Erling Haaland will stay at Borussia Dortmund, regardless of where the team plays. He said it to Sky Sports with absolute certainty.
Now, this is a blow to the teams who wanted to buy Haaland this summer. We know how interested the top English teams were with the prospect of having someone like Haaland that can literally take them to the next level. Even a ridiculously talented team like Manchester City would get so much from a player like Haaland. This is a generational player and with the right mindset and training he could go on to be one of the best players of this generation, or, dare I say it, even better than that.
Well, talking about the positive side of things, we see Haaland play some great football with Dortmund for another year! He’s been such a joy to watch. His chemistry with Jadon Sancho is something I would miss if and when he inevitably leaves the club. Everyone likes to watch them and every neutral fan hopes to see them win it. The one for the underdogs.
If Haaland leaves, it just won’t be the same, though, would it? Players like him are really hard to come by.
