The English contingent in the tournament keeps getting lighter, but those left in the Champions League and Europa League are being named favourites to take gold.

Manchester and London currently reign supreme in this term’s Champions League and Europa League competition with the final four Arsenal, Chelsea, City, and United left in their respective tournaments.

The pair of cities have doubled their chances of coming home with major honours and leaving their footprints once again on the European stages.

The quality of these four teams and recent events dating back to 2019 should make them come home with nothing less than gold. They are almost obligated to achieve top honours.

Considering Chelse won the UEL in an all-English final, as well as Liverpool winning the UCL in their all England affair, both in the same year – those in the running now must deliver with a trophy for the fans.

The way both semi-finals have been set up allows for another two all-English finals this season. So the footballing gods are also working towards a Premier League like fixture for either final.

Champions League fixtures and dates

Semi-final
First legs

Real Madrid vs Chelsea (Tuesday 27 April)
Paris Saint-Germain vs Manchester City (Wednesday 28 April)

Second legs

Manchester City vs Paris Saint-Germain (Tuesday 4 May)
Chelsea vs Real Madrid (Wednesday 5 May)

This is Manchester City’s furthers they’ve ever made it in the UCL, reaching the same distance of the semis back in 2016. Pep Guardiola’s battle against Mauricio Pochettino has been reignited with City meeting PSG.

The last time the duo met Poch was in charge of Tottenham. He came out victorious over Pep. Thomas Tuchel will want his side to continue on their flawless European run and that Mason Mount can keep inspiring positive results.

Anything better than Liverpool’s first-leg loss against Los Blancos could be enough. The second leg at Anfield and how the Reds exposed their defence but couldn’t finish gives the Blues from the Bridge an inside edge.

Europa League fixtures and dated

Ole and his Manchester United side have a chance to redeem their European dismay spanning over their Europa League semi-final loss of last season and their group-stage exit this season.

Arsenal are also seeking redemption, one of the four teams to participate in the 2019 all-English affair with Liverpool, Chelsea, and Spurs.

There is no question of the two finals the Gunners were shooting blanks and were the worst Premier League team of the four in those last encounters. They lost 4-1 to the Blues of London last time.

For now, all these finals will be played in their respective home venues, hoping there will be no travel bands between the different English and Spanish cities.
