One of the best managers of all time Jose Mourinho is experiencing a hard time in his managerial career. The multiple Premier League and Champions League winner and the” Special One” is struggling to get positive results.

Tottenham are in shambles and finds themselves in seventh place, four points adrift of fourth-placed West Ham United. The recent loss against Manchester United tells us all about Mourinho’s bad luck in his time at Spurs.

According to recent reports, Daniel Levy has lined up Maurizio Sarri as a replacement for the Portuguese boss. The Italian outlet, Rai Sport, also mentioned that the club is yet to make an official offer for Sarri.

"As for Tottenham, they are ‘another club at the window’, as Spurs ‘would like him to replace José Mourinho, although they have not yet formulated official offers to the intermediary Fali Ramadani’.(Via: SportWitness)"

Tottenham’s ran by one of the most patient owners, Daniel Levy. He not only has financial acumen but is a superb football fan too. Before sacking and replacing any manager, he gives them the time to prove themselves.

However, Jose Mourinho has been given more time than usual to steady the ship. Despite all the support, Mourinho has been unable to get positive returns for the North London outfit.

Under Jose Mourinho, Spurs have spent close to €110.5 million

Spurs spent a sum of €110.5 million to help out the new manager who was appointed in November 2019. Even so with so many millions spent, the club has still failed to produce significant results.

The Lillywhites reaching the Carabao Cup finals is the only achievement Jose has to show for in his first full season in charge. They were placed first in the EPL standings back in November but this too did not last long.

They were knocked out of FA Cup and Europa League because of their lackluster performances.
Mourinho is known for his low defensive block, which was the reason behind his top-two finish with Manchester United.

Despite having all the players at Spurs that he needed at Old Trafford, he has failed to overjump United in the league table.

In the FA Cup against Everton and in the Europa League second leg against Dinamo Zagreb, Tottenham put in two horrid performances, hence their cup exit in both competitions.

If there are no improvements in results, Daniel Levy might lose out on his prized assets as well. Harry Kane has registered his interest to move away from North London if they are unable to feature in the Champions League next season.

Under Pochettino, they finished in the top four in four successive seasons. The threat of poor displays under Mourinho might even see them not feature in Europa League if they fail to win the Carabao Cup against Manchester City.

Should Tottenham Hotspur decide to sack Mourinho, the club might have to shell a huge payout for his dismissal. If they do not act soon, the club will not only lose their top players but might face humiliation altogether.
