In football, there is no lack of suitors if one has loads of experience and skills. Such is the case with Manchester City’s Sergio Kun Aguero and his links to PSG.

Within 24 hours of his announcement that he will be leaving Manchester City at the end of the season, multiple European giants have come forward in an attempt to sign the Argentinian on a Bosman transfer.

According to the Spanish sports outlet, Todofichajes, PSG are leading the race to sign the 32-year-old in the summer transfer window following the end of the season.

They further state that the director of PSG, Leonardo, has spoken to their manager Mauricio Pochettino regarding the transfer. Leanardo believes that Sergio Aguero will be a like-for-like replacement for Mauro Icardi.

"Leonardo has spoken with Pochettino and they consider the City striker the best option to reinforce the attack this summer, especially thinking about Icardi’s goodbye, which is why they have been working for weeks on closing the deal. (Via: Todofichajes)"

More from Manchester City

Icardi has failed to impress with his performances in the ongoing edition of France’s Ligue 1. The player has just seven goals to his name across all competitions and the managerial change has come at the wrong time for the 28-year-old.

With Paris Saint-Germain linked to multiple star players, including Lionel Messi and David Alaba, the French outfit is looking to free up some wages and raise the funds needed to sign their superstar targets.

Signing Sergio Aguero can work as a wonder for the Ligue 1 champions. By signing the Manchester City striker, they can take a huge stride forward in terms of luring Lionel Messi to Parc des Princes.

Lionel Messi is yet to pen a new deal with Barcelona and might be heading elsewhere from Spain at the end of the La Liga season.

Sergio Aguero has 181 Premier League goals in 232 starts for the Etihad outfit. However, the player has struggled with injuries for the last 12 months and has started just four games for Manchester City in the 2020/21 season.

The club is rumored to want to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund as a replacement –the youngster is enjoying a great season with the German outfit and has become the hottest prospect in Europe.
