Stability – The first thing he will look to bring to this side that is already star-studded.

He will find what he is looking for from his squad and make a base XI and work from there.

He will stop the chopping and changing – which was a huge factor in Frank’s team underperforming and being so inconsistent from game-to-game.

With stability, a regular starting lineup and few changes in between matchdays will only bring better results, more consistently.

It will also improve the Blues’ home record – a stat Tuchel is renowned for at his old clubs, BVB and PSG.

His time at Dortmund was quite exceptional. He remains unbeaten at the loud and proud Signal Iduna Park. In his 34 home games, he’s won 27, drew 7 and lost nothing.

It is exactly what this Premier League club needs from a manager and loves to enjoy – just ask Mourinho.

Yes, there will be some experimenting in his first few games, which is all the time he has to work his magic – having recently joined midway through the season.

But if he is as good as the London club believes him to be, that will be all the time he needs to get a proper starting XI firing on all cylinders.
