Thomas Tuchel has been appointed by Chelsea and will take over from Frank Lampard as the manager of the club.

On Monday the club from South West London got the ball rolling early and decided Frank out and Tuchel in – is the way forward for the rest of the season.

Thomas Tuchel, being recently sacked by Paris Saint-Germain as well, was amongst four candidates to take over from club legend, Lampard.

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers, ex-Juventus great Massimiliano Allegri, the young and energetic Julian Nagelsmann, including the now Blues boss Thomas Tuchel, were all on the invitation list.

But it was the German Tuchel who was elected for the job, beating the rest to the pressure seat at Stamford Bridge and making history – becoming the club’s first-ever German manager.

"Thomas Tuchel has been appointed as the new Chelsea Head Coach. He will be the first German to manage Chelsea and arrives having guided PSG to four major honours and the Champions League final during his time in the French capital. The new boss has agreed to an 18-month deal with the possibility to extend his stay if things go better than planned.

He has also walked straight into work, having just flown down to London and started taking control of training with his newly inherited squad, almost instantly.

Now the important bit… What exactly does the ex-BVB and ex-PSG man bring to the Bridge?

Experience? A better game plan? A more suited style of play that could be identified as the Chelsea way… What exactly must Chelsea fans get excited about?
