Arsenal’s rough patch on the pitch has called for immediate work to be done in the January transfer window. On their list of priority signings, Isco is at the very top.
Arsenal’s lack of goals and creativity on the pitch has forced the board to find a playmaker. The playmaker who was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates was Real Madrid starlet, Isco.
Isco has found his first-team minutes limited under Zinedine Zidane and has openly admitted to wanting to leave as soon as possible. Sadly, a move to North London is not the Madrid attacker’s first option. He has made it clear he would like to stay in Spain and join up with Sevilla instead.
"There will be a bid for Isco, who, as he himself revealed in the media, has asked Real Madrid to leave the entity due to the lack of opportunities he has with Zidane.Several of the main teams in Europe are after the operation, which Real Madrid wants to be in a sale format (not a transfer), and even , Isco himself has already chosen. He prefers to stay in Spain, at Sevilla, near his native Malaga and his family.More from ArsenalArsenal injury news: Mikel Arteta confirms “rapid” attacker suffered injuryArsenal transfer news: Mikel Arteta rivals Manchester United for wonderkidArsenal predicted lineup vs PSV: Mikel Arteta to drop “Henry-esque” wingerAlan Shearer blasts “slow” Arsenal player – Should Mikel Arteta drop him?“Beast” Arsenal fans have noticed the GREAT form of fringe midfielderThat is the initial idea, to play under Lopetegui next season. But you will not be short of more offers. As AS has learned, there is a last minute movement. Arteta wants him on loan to Arsenal and wants him now, in January. (Via: as.com)"
The player wants to make the switch to Sevilla because it is close to his family. This leaves the Gunners almost no chance in signing the creative player.
Making it harder to get him to England, they are only looking for a loan deal till the end of the season whereas Real Madrid are looking to offload Isco permanently.
It is said the Spanish champions are looking at around €20m upwards for the outcast. This is not a big asking for a player who was once considered one of Spains brightest talents a few years ago.
In previous windows when the Spaniard has been linked with a move to other Premier League clubs, it has always never materialised. So this transfer appears to be over almost before it started.
But never judge a transfer before it is confirmed by both clubs. A lot can change between now and the end of the transfer window come February.
They are in need of a player of his quality to help supple Arsenal’s frontline of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, and others. He will also give Mikel Arteta options across the whole frontline, as he is capable of playing in any position in attack.
Arsenal have saved their campaign of late. Following seven games without a win in the Premier League, they now have collected back-to-back victories, helping them move from 15th place to 13th.
They have sorted out most of the problems at the back and need to work on their discipline. A couple of new names to see them through to till the end of the season and they could still get a top-six or top-four finish.
