Discipline is the biggest issue to highlight in North London.

Including Gabriel’s two yellows turning into a red card against Southampton, the Gunners have accumulated seven red cards under the stewardship of Mikel Arteta. No other team has more in that time frame.

This shows the lack of discipline at the club. The Gunners’ boss had to send his players on loan in order to achieve better discipline on the pitch.

For instance, Arteta’s handling of Matteo Guendouzi‘s situation is one to name. He dealt with the player well after the Brighton incident and sent him on loan to Hertha BSC.

The player is slowly returning to his usual best with a goal to his name and can be a great asset to the team cometh next season.

Moreover, the club’s inability to sign their priority targets has hindered the Gunners’ progress in the league.

Mikel Arteta has a few questions to answer

What he does have to answer for is his exclusion of Mesut Ozil. Despite Arsenal struggling with creativity in the middle of the park, Ozil was not even given a chance to show what he can offer for the club.

This has been a glaring issue for the manager. However, the recent statements by the Spaniard show that the club might be on their way towards re-integrating the German playmaker into the 25-man squad as early as January.

On the other hand, despite lackluster performances by Willian on the right flank, he was given a long rope. With talented players such as Folarin Balogun, Eddie Nketiah, and Ainsley Maitland Niles waiting for the chance, they are not utilized to the maximum possible extent.
