Wesley Fofana has been an underrated defender in Leicester City’s dominant performances in the ongoing edition of the English Premier League.
After losing a player of stature like Harry Maguire, the club was expected to struggle for a season or two, especially in the defensive area of the game. However, it was not the case with Leicester City.
After selling the English international for a record fee to Manchester United, they replaced him with the talented Turkish defender, Caglar Soyuncu. The club realized at the fag end of last season that they needed a backup for the Turkish international.
Foxes’ scouts were quick enough to find a talented defender in Ligue 1 in the shape of Wesley Fofana. Brendan Rodgers took little time to recommend him to the board and the board snapped him up for a fee of €35 million from Saint Etienne in the summer transfer window.
The manager was all praises for the young center-back. The player was quick out the blocks in the English top-flight and has adapted well to the pace of the English Premier League. In the first seven matches, he was nominated for the Player of the Match award.

The former Liverpool and Leicester City manager praised him and said:
"I think the surprising thing is that if you look at the seven games he’s played and the level of the teams we’ve played, and the consistent run of games, how he’s coped with that. He’s absolutely colossal for a young guy(Via: Leicestershire Live)"
Wesley Fofana has hit top form at the King Power Stadium. Although the former Saint Etienne player arrived a bit late to the league he has shown the club’s faithful that he can and will become a top defender at Leicester.

If his form stays as good as it is, he could very well bring Leicester City their second title in the space of five years.
