Many concerns floating around Europe as the fixture congestion between club and international duty causes more problems than anything else.

Like Liverpool, Manchester City have their many injury concerns. Joining the long, long list of injured Premier League players is Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson. The winger along with Liverpool’s captain has been released by the Three Lions’ management.

The pair of England players will now miss the final National League game against Iceland on Wednesday. Hendo will undergo further assessments when he returns to the Reds new training facility at Kirkby.

Henderson was withdrawn from the 2-0 loss against Belgium during halftime while Sterling was already missing from team selection before kickoff with a calf problem. He too will be assessed when back at the Etihad Campus.

More from Manchester City

"Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson have been ruled out of England’s UEFA Nations League clash with Iceland on Wednesday because of injury.Liverpool captain Henderson picked up a knock in Sunday’s defeat against Belgium while Manchester City forward Sterling is withdrawing with a calf complaint. The pair have returned to their respective clubs for further assessment. Judging by the injuries suffered by all of these footballers, experiencing calf problems or hamstring issues, its clear to see the number of minutes spent on the pitch is taking its toll on all.

A big problem before a big clash

Pep Guardiola’s Man City trips to North London for an important clash against Tottenham. Spurs have gotten off to a good start under Jose Mourinho’s guidance. The City boss needs his best players to take on the team who sits in second place.

Sterling has also been the go-to forward for Pep. Without the likes of Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus, the Spaniard utilised his wingers, most Sterling, as the man to lead the line. Thankfully, Sergio could be back in the team come Saturday whilst Jesus has had a good run since returning back to full fitness.

Fernandinho has been the other key figure missing for a good spell on the sideline. But reports are not all gloomy, as the club is quite confident the trio will be available for the important Premier League fixture.

"Raheem Sterling suffered a “small” injury ahead of England’s Nations League game away to Belgium on Sunday, with Gareth Southgate saying he is hopeful the forward will be fit “by the end of the week”.“He started training yesterday and wasn’t really happy with it. We have discussed it and it isn’t one to take a chance on.” (Via: Sky Sports)"

More. Liverpool’s injury worries increased!. light

This is far better news than that of what is going on at Anfield and their injury crisis. It’s coming to a point where Liverpool might only be able to field a team of first-team forwards and reserves.
