If you build it, FPL will come.

As we near to the starting gun (don’t forget that deadlines are half an hour earlier this season, so it’s 11am BST on Saturday morning), for my final preview I will walk through my Fantasy Premier League team as it stands and my thinking behind each player. I’m also going to introduce my new experiment this year, explain my plan, and the teams that will begin GW1.

It is important to note that my plan to deal with the lack of Man City and Man United players (and Burnley and Aston Villa but I’m less worried about their players) is to give myself a lot of flexibility in the premium bracket, therefore allowing me to chop and change if necessary.

But that means I have none of their players in my starting team. I was planning on having Phil Foden in my squad but after he was sent home from England duty, I will wait to see how Pep reacts, as he might end up on the sideline for a few games.

Obviously, this is still provisional. I’m writing this on the eve, so almost a whole 24 hours for me to throw it all out and start again…
