Man United

Fixtures

WARNING! MAN UNITED ALSO DO NOT HAVE A FIXTURE IN GW1! Therefore, it is highly recommended not to pick one of them for GW1 unless you have some grand master strategy.

Attack 87%

Defence 33%

There’s a lot to interest FPL managers in Solskjaer’s team. They were incredible from last January following the introduction of Bruno. They have some excellent fixtures with the likes of Palace, Brighton, and Newcastle in their first 4 games, but there is that blank…

Main Pick

Bruno Fernandes (MID, 10.5m)

I looked at the two other obvious candidates, but really Bruno is the man at Man United. He came in and made that whole team slicker, quicker and better. In less than half a season he amassed 117 points from 8 goals and 8 assists.

Granted a lot of those goals were penalties, which is both a blessing and a curse as they could dry up, but he just finds a way at scoring those FPL points! So you should find a way of having him in your team.

Differential Pick

Marcus Rashford (MID, 9.5m)

He seems to be the least popular of the fab 4 fronting Man United’s attack. Maybe it’s because Bruno is right there at 10.5m, which means it’s easy to get to the more obvious choice. But are people missing a trick here?

Yes, Bruno is incredible, but Rashford is a striker who has been pushed out to the wing and he plays that way. He took more shots than Martial and made more chances than Martial or Greenwood (per 90 minutes) over last season and his goals are now worth more points!

Defensive Pick

Luke Shaw (DEF, 5.0m)

This seems like a gift horse at which we shouldn’t look to closely at! When fit he is Solskjaer’s no. 1 left back and he does like to get forward and provide some attacking returns. If Man United can continue their defensive form that saw them pick up 5 clean sheets in the league after lockdown, then he will keep bringing in the points, and add a few extras from the attack as well.

Steer Clear

David De Gea (GK, 5.5m)

The goalkeeper situation at Man United is unclear. They have probably the best back up goalkeeper in the league in Romero and now Dean Henderson is staying, as well following an incredible season at Sheffield United.

De Gea was once the best goalkeeper in the league, if not the world, but some high-profile errors would suggest he’s on the way down and now might be the time for OGS to move him on one way or another. I would stay away from all of them for now until the situation is clear.
