UEFA has released their ranking of the best women players after the Women’s Champions League 2019/20 has concluded.

How was the Women’s Champions League 2020?

Like every other sport, the ladies had to pause due to the pandemic but the wait made even more special.

Women footballers are dominating the field in their own unique scoring style. Olympique Lyonnais had a record-breaking campaign this year after winning their fifth consecutive Champions League title since 2016.

Adding to this, the final between winners Lyon and losers Wolfsburg broke the viewership records in Europe with the help of Uefa.TV, OTT streaming services, BT Sport in the UK, NENT in the Nordic region, CBS in the USA, and DAZN in Canada and Asia.

As per reports, France and Germany recorded the most views during the final. No surprise when you look at the two finalists playing. This gives so much hope to the ladies who need more exposure while playing the biggest sports on this planet, football.

Ada Hegerberg, the Norwegian striker from Olympique Lyonnais who has been at the club since 2014. She was injured for the finals of the UCL. Despite her injury, Ada broke Anja Mittag‘s record and become the all-time top scorer with 53 goals. It took her 50 matches to hit her tally of 53 goals.

Women players are far behind in breaking any of the men’s records but one day we might just see a female baller take one of the greats’ records down. Their fan-base is increasing and hopefully, it will continue to increase and do so at a rapid rate also.
