Man United continues negotiations with Aston Villa over the signing of Jack Grealish
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is yet to sign a player in the ongoing transfer market and is falling behind his counterparts.
Manchester United are reportedly continuing their discussions with Aston Villa for the signing of Jack Grealish, who is valued around £80million by his club. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has named the Villa skipper as one of the priority transfer target this summer.
Jack Grealish, after a three-year hiatus from the Premier League, helped his boyhood club Aston Villa retain their top-flight status last season. The 24-year-old playmaker created the highest amount of chances among the English players, managing 14 goal contributions in the league.
Despite Bruno Fernandes’ evident impact on Manchester United’s playing style, manager Solskjaer is eager to further bolster his attacking midfield options, thereby adding quality in depth and fierce competition for starting spots.
Among the options discussed, Jack Grealish ranks the highest on the list of targets, followed by Ajax’s Donny van de Beek. Recently, Man United have also expressed their interest in AFC Bournemouth’s versatile operator David Brooks.

Previously, Arsenal and Manchester City have been linked at different junctures with a possible move for Aston Villa’s skipper Jack Grealish. However, none of them has taken a significant step and Man United remain in the pole position.
Furthermore, citing Villa’s exorbitant asking price, Man United chiefs are holding dialogues to lower the demands and are exploring the option to add a few of their players in a part-exchange deal.
Regardless of the re-emergence of Grealish talks, Jadon Sancho still remains the priority transfer target for United, despite Borussia Dortmund’s insistence that the player is rescinded from the selling list.
Currently, Man United have made their move for AS Monaco centre-back Benoit Badiashile. The talks continue between the clubs after the Reds’ first offer of €25m was rejected by the Ligue 1 outfit.
