Manchester City make an inquiry for Bonucci – Player is unwilling to leave Juventus
Pep Guardiola is keen to sign another centre-back after sealing the deal for Nathan Ake.
Manc City’s latest is that they have made an inquiry for Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci as Pep Guardiola seeks a squad overhaul. But, the Italian is keen to end his career at the Turin club and won’t entertain any offers for a transfer.
Pep Guardiola, after overseeing a drop in defensive performances last season, is looking to shake up his centre-back department. Only Aymeric Laporte’s future is secured at Manchester City.
After signing Nathan Ake, Guardiola is eyeing a dominant defensive presence in the ilk of Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk to partner Laporte at the heart of the defence. Kalidou Koulibaly is envisaged as a statement signing by the City chiefs.
Despite a firm interest in the player and carrying out multiple dialogues with Napoli, Man City are yet to find a complete consensus over the transfer fees. The Italian side is holding out for at least 70 million euros.
Given the level of talks existent between the clubs, it is quite likely that an agreement would be reached soon and Man City would eventually pay around €70million. There have been talks to include Eric Garcia to reduce the transfer fee.

Bonucci or not, Man City are well poised to pull off one of the most significant transfer windows in their history. As per several reports, the Sky Blues chiefs have taken several positive strides to convince Lionel Messi to join Pep Guardiola’s at the Etihad.
