The Blaugrana chiefs are planning wholesale changes this summer to move on from the Bayern Munich humiliation suffered in the Champions League.

Barcelona have identified Manchester City full-back, Angelino, to replace veteran Jordi Alba as Ronald Koeman seeks a plethora of incomings to embark on a new era for the Catalan giants. The Spanish defender spent the second part of the 2019/20 campaign on loan at RB Leipzig.

Angelino, coming through the ranks at Manchester City, rejoined the Sky Blues last summer from PSV as the club insiders decided to trigger his buy-back clause worth £5.3million. The 23-year-old, however, left England for Leipzig in search of regular game time.

Despite playing a crucial part in Die Rotten Bullen’s surprising journey to the semi-final stages of the Champions League, Pep Guardiola is eager to have an upgrade and Angelino and Benjamin Mendy in the ongoing transfer market, if possible.

Similar to that of Barcelona, Man City are planning their overhaul after conceding the Premier League title to Liverpool by a massive gap of 18 points. Thus far, the Cityzens have succeeded in recruiting two players in Ferran Torres and Nathan Ake.

Citing an opportunity, Barcelona representatives have generated a firm interest in Manchester CIty’s defensive prospect. The English club, too, is eager to add funds to their transfer kitty if a suitable proposal is presented to them.
