Lyon looks to bring the momentum from the round of 16 into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Although the French side knocked out Italian giants Juventus, defeating Manchester City is going to be a whole different ball game when they take to the pitch on Saturday, August 15.

The team hailing from England has not lost a match in the Champions League so far, which is quite an accomplishment in its own right but Lyon may just break that winning streak.

Man City, however, comes into this match on a high as well after knocking out Real Madrid in the round of 16. Pep Guardiola‘s side will want to continue that winning streak until the semi-finals if not the finals.

One leg will be played in the knockout stages of the Champions League this season, meaning there is no second chance to redeem yourself should you lose. All remaining fixtures will be played in Portugal.

Both teams will have to play out of their skins and it will be an entertaining yet nerve-racking time for fans and players alike.

Lyon’s best strategy for a win would be to lie deep, absorb the pressure from City then initiate a counter-attack. Easier said than done when it comes to the Manchester side as they tend to close the opposition down quickly.
