Champions League: Trouble in the European realm ahead of quarter-final fixtures
The COVID-19 pandemic is still stirring the pot as much as it can. A duo of personnel in the Champions League mass testing found positive.
A clean round of Champions League fixtures has come and gone. Bayern Munich did their business against Chelsea showing the difference between men and boys in the tournament. While Barcelona, Man City, and Lyon all join the rest of the quarter-finalists following their individual victories.
Besides all the encounters going off as planned, so did the first round of testing. After a fruitful start and a successful first weekend of European action, the coronavirus has kicked against the curb again, inviting itself back into the important affair.

The next round of UCL fixtures commences from Wednesday this week. Worryingly for all involved in Thursday’s meeting between RB Leipzig and Atletico Madrid quarter-finals, the Spanish side has confirmed two positive cases of COVID-19 after EUFA’s full series of testing across the European land.

The Madrid based outfit was set to travel to Portugal this week to train in their respective location ahead of their important tie. They were set to travel as early as Monday but now will have to wait a bit longer and complete their UCL training in Spain, flying over tomorrow, Tuesday, for the latest or earliest, whichever way you look at it.
The players infected have not been named for obvious reasons. Is this a setback? This is a setback for the Spanish club only. They could be short two vital players in the once-off knockout match.
