Some days ago and only a few after the transfer market opened and Brighton are already two new players heavy.

The Seagulls Premier League stay meant immediate work in the transfer window. The club wasted no time in adding new faces to the squad with them first announcing the signing of Adam Lallana on a free transfer, after not renewing his deal with Liverpool.

Not long after them beating everybody to Lallana’s signature the South Coast side advertised their second catch for the summer. Ajax defender, Joel Veltman, joined the club for an undisclosed fee. Other reports from the Dutchland stated the fee could have been as low as £900,000 paid for the defender.

Yes, this is not the world’s best players as they were not wanted by every club on the continent. However, they are the signings the club needed to obtain in order for them to improve on their previous season, and the season afore that.

What else makes this some of the best business by the Seagulls? Two reasons and probably the only reasons that matter ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
