It was a sad night of celebrations for Adam Lallana on the eve of the Premier League title lift.

Not all things are sweet at the end of a football campaign, one such thing is Adam Lallana’s time at Liverpool. It has been coming for a while but thankfully for him and the club it happened with impeccable timing.

When Lallana joined the Reds it was another celebration day. One of the best English players when playing for Southampton, newly promoted to the top flight, and under the leadership of the then-newcomer Mauricio Pochettino back in 2012.

The two, along with a whole lineup of fresh, fantastic faces took the Premier League by storm, ending in 14th place on their return. The season after? It was the one that put the Englishman on the map and made him a hot target for the bigger boys in the league.

The Saints ended the 2013-2014 run in eighth place, their highest at the time just after promotion. They would go on to finish higher and higher, with sixth place their best finish this decade.

Lallana’s tally of nine goals and six assists in 38 appearances was his best in the EPL to date. Following his best show, the Reds made their move with Brendan Rodgers at the helm and sharing a specific love for the attacking midfielder.
