Missing out on the action but the team not missing him at all!

Manager Frank Lampard took a massive gamble leaving his first-choice out of the lineup when their Champions League football for next season was on the line. With great relief, his gamble and shuffle paid off big time as Chelsea kept their UCL birth for next season with a clean sheet and three points to end the season in fourth place.

The experienced and trusted Willy Caballero came in and saw Lampard’s team safely through the 90 minutes. This displayed they didn’t miss him and are more than capable of doing the job without him in between the sticks.

"Kepa has conceded 8% of Chelsea’s goals in their Premier League HISTORY and ranks bottom in the league for conceding goals he should save… it’s no wonder Frank Lampard is running out of patience with the most expensive goalkeeper in world football. (Via: dailymail.co.uk)"

Lampard has tried and Kepa, along with his backline who must not go unpunished, has failed at taking his chances. A season down and he earned 33 starts in the Premier League. In this time, Chelsea has earned the title of the worse defensive team in the English top flight (54 goals conceded).

Since the restart, Chelsea has only kept four clean sheets, with him involved in two of it and Willy the others. Caballero has only played three fixtures since the restart. Two FA Cup games and the final day against Wolves, conceding as little as one goal.

The man has only played a total of 12 games this term and is still able to come on to do a more assured job as the number 1. He’s only lost three games while on the pitch. A perfect example of doing more with less.

Sadly, business must be handled and this is no time for Frank to be friend-finding and needs to be a bit ruthless in cases like this. The Spaniard has been dropped more than once this season and last season he was no Alisson Becker.
